COVID-19 Safety Practices

I am honoured to be in the position to provide a clean & safe environment for you and your family to come for osteopathic care. I would like to assure you that I am taking all of the necessary precautions so that you can relax when you’re in the clinic.

I follow the guidelines laid out by my professional associations; Osteopathy BC (OBC),, and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC),, as instructed by the Provincial Health Officer.

Here are the steps that are taken to ensure a clean & safe environment at

Soul Work Osteopathy

  • Required ongoing self-assessment for signs & symptoms of Covid-19 in both the client and therapist

  • Hand hygiene practices

  • Avoid face touching

  • Enhanced cleaning practices

  • Appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Meeting professional obligations in regards to properly discussing informed consent re: risks of possible transmission even with enhanced cleaning

  • Ongoing self assessment using BC’s approved self assessment tool:

What to Expect When You Arrive

  • Once you have created an account and booked online, my scheduling software will automatically email you a pre-screening questionnaire before each appointment. Please fill it out honestly each time.

  • I will screen myself each day for symptoms using the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment tool daily and cancel appointments if I have any symptoms.

  • Before your appointment begins, I will ask you the standard COVID-19 screening questions.

  • I will meet you at the gate at your appointment time (not early) and walk down the stairs with you, opening doors for you so you don’t need to touch anything.

  • Masks are now required while inside the clinic.

  • Please bring your own mask to your appointment, but if you forget, I will have a disposable one for you to use.

  • We will both wash our hands upon entry to the clinic as this has been shown to be the best method for prevention.

  • Enhanced, diligent cleaning will include that all surfaces are disinfected between each appointment, including the treatment table, door knobs, chairs, stools, coat hangers, light switches, washroom and stair-railing.

  • If used, linens will be single-use and washed between uses, as has always been the case in my practice.

  • Washroom will be outfitted with single-use paper towels in place of cotton towels and sanitized after each use.

  • Cleaners used in the clinic are from the approved Covid-19 disinfectant list, found here:

  • Symptoms of Covid-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses and seasonal allergies.

  • An appointment must be cancelled immediately if either the patient or the therapist presents with even mild symptoms that may be signs of Covid-19 including:

        Shortness of breath

Sore throat or pain with swallowing

        Stuffy or runny nose

        Loss of sense of smell

        Muscle aches

        Loss of appetite

  • Covid-19 Symptoms may range from mild to severe. Please cancel appointments if you experience even mild symptoms.

  • Cancellation policy does not apply if you are sick.

Professional Obligations

  • The therapist carries professional liability insurance.

  • The therapist is following all the health and safety guidelines outlined by Osteopathy BC (OBC), the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), and the Provincial Health Officer.

  • The therapist is taking all reasonable precautions to clean and disinfect the clinic and all the surfaces within the treatment room.

  • No guarantees have been made by the therapist, that the patient or therapist may not come in contact with COVID-19 at or during an appointment, despite stringent cleaning practices.

If you test positive for Covid-19 within 14 days of your appointment, please contact the therapist and inform them of positive test results and possible transmission of the virus immediately.
