COVID-19 Safety Practices

I am honoured to be in the position to provide a clean & safe environment for you and your family to come for osteopathic care. I would like to assure you that I am taking all of the necessary precautions so that you can relax when you’re in the clinic. 

 

I follow the guidelines laid out by my professional associations; Osteopathy BC (OBC), www.osteopathybc.ca, and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), www.cmtbc.ca, as instructed by the Provincial Health Officer.

 

Here are the steps that are taken to ensure a clean & safe environment at 

Soul Work Osteopathy

 

  • Required ongoing self-assessment for signs & symptoms of Covid-19 in both the client and therapist

  • Hand hygiene practices

  • Avoid face touching 

  • Enhanced cleaning practices

  • Appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Meeting professional obligations in regards to properly discussing informed consent re: risks of possible transmission even with enhanced cleaning

What to Expect When You Arrive

​

  • Once you have created an account and booked online, my scheduling software will automatically email you a pre-screening questionnaire before each appointment. Please fill it out honestly each time.

  • I will screen myself each day for symptoms using the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment tool daily and cancel appointments if I have any symptoms.

  • Masks are optional.

  • Enhanced, diligent cleaning of touch surfaces.

  • If used, linens will be single-use and washed between uses, as has always been the case in my practice. 

  • Washroom will be outfitted with single-use paper towels.

  • Cleaners used in the clinic are from the approved Covid-19 disinfectant list, found here: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/disinfectants/covid-19/list.html

Symptoms

​

  • Symptoms of Covid-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses and seasonal allergies.

  • An appointment must be cancelled immediately if either the patient or the therapist presents with even mild symptoms that may be signs of Covid-19 including:

        Fever

        Cough

        Chills

        Shortness of breath

        Sore throat or pain with swallowing

        Stuffy or runny nose

        Loss of sense of smell

        Headache

        Muscle aches

        Fatigue

        Loss of appetite

  • Covid-19 Symptoms may range from mild to severe. Please cancel appointments if you experience even mild symptoms.

  • Cancellation policy does not apply if you are sick.

 

Professional Obligations

​

  • The therapist carries professional liability insurance.

  • The therapist is following all the health and safety guidelines outlined by Osteopathy BC (OBC), the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), and the Provincial Health Officer.

  • The therapist is taking all reasonable precautions to clean and disinfect the clinic and all the surfaces within the treatment room.

  • No guarantees have been made by the therapist, that the patient or therapist may not come in contact with COVID-19 at or during an appointment, despite stringent cleaning practices.

 

If you test positive for Covid-19 within 14 days of your appointment, please contact the therapist and inform them of positive test results and possible transmission of the virus immediately.
